Montréal Marathon brings weekend road closures for 35,000 runners
Montréal is warning residents to expect rolling road closures and transit impacts during marathon events from October 9 to 11.

Montréal residents should plan for rolling road closures this weekend as the Beneva Montréal Marathon brings an expected 35,000 runners from 57 countries to events from Friday, October 9, through Sunday, October 11.
The city says Friday evening’s Mile at Parc Maisonneuve will begin at 6 p.m. without affecting vehicle traffic. Saturday’s 1-, 5- and 10-kilometre events will require closures around Parc Maisonneuve from about 6:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
The largest disruption is expected Sunday. Roads along the half-marathon and marathon courses are scheduled to close in stages between 6:30 a.m. and 3:25 p.m. The races start at Espace 67 and use the Concorde Bridge, Rue Notre-Dame, Parc La Fontaine, Boulevard Saint-Joseph and Boulevard Saint-Laurent before returning toward Parc Maisonneuve.
The city identifies Route 136, Rue Sherbrooke, Rue des Carrières, the Van Horne viaduct, Autoroute 40 and Pont Viau as crossing options. The STM plans to adjust métro service to demand, and riders are advised to buy fares before the weekend.
