Editorial standards

Our standard is clear, accurate coverage that helps readers understand what happened, when it happened and what remains uncertain.

We use AI to assist with research, organisation and drafting. AI output is not itself evidence. Factual claims must be checked against the linked source material before publication.

We distinguish official announcements from independently verified outcomes. Proposed projects, provisional dates and forecasts are identified as such. A release date is not automatically the date of the event it describes.

We write original summaries and add useful context rather than reproduce an entire source. Quotations must be exact and attributed. We use images with appropriate permission or licences and identify stock and file photographs.

We hold sensitive or insufficiently verified stories for additional review. Automated tools do not remove the publisher’s responsibility for accuracy and corrections.
