Ottawa adds $630,000 to Hudson Village Theatre expansion
A federal grant will support a multipurpose room and other work at Hudson Village Theatre.

The federal government is providing Hudson Village Theatre with an additional $630,000 for an expansion intended to add a multipurpose room and improve the organization’s cultural space.
Canadian Heritage announced the contribution on October 3 and published details on October 7. The money comes through the Community Spaces Fund.
The department says the new amount is in addition to $1,683,046 previously awarded through the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund. Together, the two federal contributions total just over $2.31 million, although the release does not provide a completion date for the project.
Hudson Village Theatre was founded in 1993 and is described by Canadian Heritage as the only professional English-language performing-arts organization in Hudson and the Montérégie region. The expansion is meant to give the theatre more room for programming and community use.
