Élections Québec lists six to eight candidates in five West Island-area ridings as voters head to the polls on October 5.

West Island and nearby voters will see between six and eight names on their ballots in five western Montréal-area ridings in Québec’s October 5 general election.

Élections Québec’s candidate statistics list seven candidates in Jacques-Cartier, seven in Marquette, seven in Nelligan, eight in Robert-Baldwin and six in Vaudreuil. The provincial average is seven candidates per electoral division.

Across Québec’s 127 ridings, 908 people are running: 387 women and 521 men. The average candidate age is 47. Five parties have a candidate in every riding: Coalition avenir Québec, the Conservative Party of Québec, the Quebec Liberal Party, Parti Québécois and Québec solidaire.
