Pierrefonds–Roxboro adds 48 speed humps and 14 flashing crossings

Pierrefonds–Roxboro plans to add 48 speed humps on busy residential streets and rapid-flashing lights at 14 higher-risk pedestrian crossings, according to a borough announcement published September 8.
The crossing upgrades are planned for locations on boulevards Saint-Jean, de Pierrefonds, des Sources and Jacques-Bizard, as well as rue Antoine-Faucon. Québec’s Road Safety Fund is helping finance the flashing-light project.
The borough also reported that 44 educational speed displays installed near 22 primary and secondary schools last year were followed by an average-speed reduction of slightly more than 10 km/h, based on its data.
Separately, the SPVM’s back-to-school operation runs through September 18, with an increased police presence around school zones. The borough says enforcement can cover speeding, prohibited U-turns and rules for motorized personal-transport devices.
