Preventive boil-water advisory remains in effect for part of Herron Road

A preventive boil-water advisory remains listed for part of Herron Road in Dorval after water was shut off Thursday for fire-hydrant replacement work.

The affected stretch runs from Caledonia Avenue to 1270 Herron Road. The City’s September 23 notice said service was scheduled to be interrupted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on September 24 while crews excavated and replaced three hydrants.

Once service returns, affected residents should let cold-water taps run until the water is clear, then do the same with hot-water taps. Until the City issues a second notice lifting the advisory, tap water should be boiled for one minute or replaced with bottled water for drinking, brushing teeth, making ice, preparing beverages and baby bottles, and washing food that will be eaten raw.

As of early September 25, the City’s regularly updated Info-Work page still displayed the advisory and no lifting notice was posted. Residents should check that page for the latest status before relying on this brief.
