Québec is now accepting only the newly issued documents for applications involving non-subsidized daycare places, after a November 1 transition took effect.

The Ministry of Family and Youth’s updated application page, published October 30, says older versions of the form and applicant guide are no longer accepted.

The process applies to requests for a new non-subsidized daycare permit, an increase in the maximum number of children on a permit, or a move to a different home-childcare coordinating-office territory.

Applicants must consult the new guide, complete and sign the new form, and submit the required supporting documents and fee to the address specified in the form. The government lists a $1,918 fee for a new permit application between April 1, 2026, and March 31, 2027. It says the fee is collected only if a file is deemed admissible and is not refundable if the application is later refused.

The change concerns operators and permit applicants, not the parent portal used to seek a child-care place. Montréal-area applicants should download the documents directly from Québec.ca immediately before filing to avoid using an obsolete copy.
