The Honoré-Mercier Bridge is limited to one lane in each direction while Québec transportation crews repair a cracked steel beam beneath the structure carrying traffic toward Montréal.

The restriction is scheduled to remain in effect until 5 a.m. Monday, October 19. The Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable said on October 15 that all lanes will reopen after the repair is completed. The timing may change because of weather or operational constraints.

Drivers should expect congestion and allow extra time. The ministry recommends using public transit where possible and checking Québec 511 before travelling. The westbound Highway 30 toll is also suspended on weekday mornings from 5:30 to 9:30 until the bridge restrictions are fully lifted.

The ministry said the crack was found October 13 during maintenance and that the bridge remains safe based on its inspections and analysis. The left lane toward Montréal had already been closed as a precaution.
