Québec has opened nominations for the 30th edition of the Hommage bénévolat-Québec awards, with submissions accepted until December 5.

The awards have three categories. The volunteer category covers people aged 36 or older, the young-volunteer category covers people aged 14 to 35, and the organization category recognizes groups with strong practices for supporting and promoting volunteer work.

The province says more than 1,100 people and organizations have been recognized since the awards began in 1998.

Nominations are open to candidates from every region of Québec. The deadline falls on the International Volunteer Day date; applicants should use the official provincial forms and category requirements.
