Le Sud-Ouest borough council has waived street-occupancy permit fees for four non-profit housing projects representing 745 non-market homes.

The projects are Point Commun’s 395-unit development at 651 Bridge Street; Mission Old Brewery’s 13-unit project for vulnerable residents at 1685–1693 Rue de l’Église; Habitation Laprairie and La Petite Maison sur Laprairie’s 52-unit social-housing project at 1295 Rue Laprairie; and UTILE’s 285-unit student project at 926–938 Rue Saint-Maurice.

The borough described the total value of the waived fees as nearly $4 million. The decision removes municipal permit costs; it is not a statement that all 745 homes are complete.
