Brandon McNulty wins men’s world road title in Montréal

American Brandon McNulty won the men’s elite road race at the 2026 UCI Road World Championships in Montréal on Sunday, finishing the 273.4-kilometre course in 6:17:04.

Australia’s Michael Matthews took silver 13 seconds later, with the Netherlands’ Mathieu van der Poel third on the same time. The official Tissot Timing classification, posted for the September 27 race, lists American Quinn Simmons fourth and Mexico’s Isaac del Toro fifth.

Michael Leonard was the highest-placed Canadian in 32nd, 6:39 behind McNulty. Michael Woods finished 35th at 6:48, while Nickolas Zukowsky placed 45th at 6:53.

The men’s elite road race began at Quartier DIX30 in Brossard and finished in Montréal, closing the September 20–27 championships. UCI’s event hub carries the championship programme and results.
