Ahuntsic–Cartierville will lower the speed limit on Boulevard Sauvé outside the Sophie-Barat school annex to 30 km/h on October 20, the borough announced October 16.

The change follows several completed adjustments around the annex, near the intersection of Sauvé and Saint-Laurent boulevards. A bus stop has been moved so students need to cross only Saint-Laurent to reach the school, and a drop-off area has been added on Saint-Laurent.

Rue Laverdure has also been converted to one-way southbound operation. The borough says it has requested a traffic-light adjustment, but that change remains pending.

The measures are intended to reduce conflicts between road users and improve walking, cycling and transit access for students, families and staff.
