DDO says more than 1,000 trees and shrubs are planned in 2026

Dollard-des-Ormeaux says more than 1,000 trees and shrubs are planned across its 2026 greening projects, part of a municipal profile published Sunday for Québec’s Municipal Week.

The city reports that its 34 parks and other green spaces amount to 4.8 hectares per 1,000 residents. It compares that figure with a Québec standard of four hectares per 1,000 residents.

The September 13 update also points residents to a food forest, a municipal garden and domestic honeybee hives as local biodiversity initiatives. It highlights Centennial Park alongside neighbourhood paths, playgrounds and seasonal recreation areas.

What the figures mean

The figures are the city’s own summary of its parks and 2026 plans. The announcement does not provide a site-by-site planting list or completion count, so the 1,000-plus total should be read as planned work rather than finished planting.

The page also links residents to municipal emergency-preparedness information and the city’s newsletter and alert services during Municipal Week, which runs September 13 to 19.
