Saint-Léonard launches two-year after-school youth hub
The borough’s Mega Hub-Social will offer free after-school activities at four Saint-Léonard locations over the next two years.

Saint-Léonard has launched a two-year after-school program offering free sports, cultural and social activities for young people at four sites near the borough’s civic hub.
The Mega Hub-Social activities will run at the Centre Leonardo da Vinci, Saint-Léonard library, the skating chalet and the Giuseppe-Garibaldi pavilion. The borough says the area is close to a school attended by about 3,000 students.
The program includes three youth outreach teams. According to the borough, related initiatives already reach more than 400 young people each week and have contributed to a nearly 70 per cent reduction in reported incivilities around the civic hub. That figure is the borough’s assessment and has not been independently verified.
Desjardins is contributing $30,000 over two years. The borough also cites support from Québec’s Programme québécois de lutte contre la criminalité, without stating an amount in its announcement.
