Drivers between Ottawa and Gatineau should plan around daytime closures at two interprovincial crossings from Monday, September 14, through Friday, September 18.
The Alexandra Bridge will close to motorists for grating inspections from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Its boardwalk will remain open to pedestrians and cyclists during those periods.
Chaudière restrictions follow Wednesday and Thursday
Access to the Chaudière Crossing from the Gatineau side will close to cars and trucks from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday for the Tour de Gatineau cycling event.
Cars approaching from Gatineau will be directed to the Portage or Alexandra bridges, while trucks will be sent to the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge. Access from the Ottawa side will remain open, but vehicles travelling toward Gatineau must follow a detour via Laurier Street after crossing.
