Quebec is holding its 2026 school crossing-guard recognition week from October 26 through November 1.

The province’s campaign is intended to highlight the role crossing guards play in helping children travel safely near schools. Municipalities, schools and police services are being encouraged to share recognition messages and road-safety reminders throughout the week.

For drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, the practical message is unchanged: slow down in school zones, obey crossing guards’ directions and keep crosswalks clear. Those rules matter especially during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal periods.

Quebec’s official communications kit includes ready-to-use material for organizations and the campaign hashtag. The recognition week ends Sunday, November 1.
