Biodiversity mural unveiled at École secondaire d’Anjou
The new “Nos racines, nos ailes” mural draws on an environmental study of local biodiversity and will anchor student workshops.

A new mural inspired by Anjou’s biodiversity has been inaugurated at École secondaire d’Anjou.
The borough said the work, titled Nos racines, nos ailes, was unveiled on October 23. It was developed through a collaboration involving illustrator and mural artist Alex Davro, Parcours Âme, Éco-pivot, the school, the borough and community partners.
Its imagery draws on an environmental characterization of local biodiversity carried out by Éco-pivot. The project connects the school setting with nearby plant and animal life rather than treating the mural as decoration alone.
The borough also says cultural-mediation workshops are planned. Those sessions will give students opportunities to meet the artist and explore the environmental themes reflected in the work.
The mural is at the secondary school in Anjou, in Montréal’s east end. The project is complete, while the student programming remains upcoming.
