L’Île-des-Sœurs library renamed for Kim Yaroshevskaya
Verdun has renamed the L’Île-des-Sœurs library in honour of Québec artist Kim Yaroshevskaya.

The public library on L’Île-des-Sœurs now carries the name of Kim Yaroshevskaya, the Québec actor, author and storyteller known to generations of children as Fanfreluche and as Grand-Mère on Passe-Partout.
Verdun formally marked the change at an October 30 ceremony attended by elected officials, relatives, friends and artists who worked with Yaroshevskaya. Montréal announced the new name on November 2.
The borough says the honour recognizes both her long career in television, theatre, literature and storytelling and her many years as an L’Île-des-Sœurs resident. Library services continue at the same branch under the new name, Bibliothèque Kim-Yaroshevskaya.
