Ottawa puts up to $179,795 into women-farmer training
The federal government is providing up to $179,795 for business and leadership training for women farmers in Québec and Eastern Ontario.

The federal government is providing up to $179,795 to the Fédération des Agricultrices du Québec for business and leadership support for women farmers in Québec and Eastern Ontario.
Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada announced the investment in Longueuil on October 15. The money comes through the AgriDiversity Program under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership.
The project is expected to offer personalized support and access to experts in financial planning, marketing, legal services and agricultural advisory services. Online and in-person workshops will cover farm finances, funding opportunities, communication, conflict management and leadership.
The federation also plans a promotional campaign featuring women farmers from different backgrounds. The organization is affiliated with the Union des producteurs agricoles and includes 10 regional women-farmer unions.
The federal release describes the amount as “up to,” so the figure is a funding ceiling rather than confirmation that the full sum has already been spent.
