Thirty-one Greater Toronto Area businesses and organizations will receive nearly $26 million in federal support aimed at improving competitiveness during ongoing tariff and trade uncertainty.

FedDev Ontario announced the funding on October 2 through the Regional Tariff Response Initiative. The agency said recipients plan to adopt new technology, increase production, strengthen supply chains and diversify into new markets.

The package includes $700,000 for Brampton-based Daybar Industries, part of a company project valued at more than $12 million to expand capacity for commercial and industrial steel doors and frames. The federal announcement links to a backgrounder listing all 31 recipients.

The support is part of a broader initiative; the individual terms and amounts vary by recipient.
