FedNor has announced $20,533,121 for 22 projects led by Community Futures Development Corporations across Northern Ontario.

The federal regional-development agency said the projects are intended to expand business advisory services, financing and community economic-development work. Recipients include Community Futures organizations serving communities across the region.

The funding is being delivered through the federal Community Futures Program, Regional Economic Growth through Innovation and the Northern Ontario Development Program. Individual projects and funding amounts are listed in an accompanying federal backgrounder.

FedNor’s release gives different job estimates in its heading and body. West Island Blog is therefore not repeating a single job total as a settled figure; the verified announcement is the $20.53-million commitment to 22 projects.
