Canadiens split final preseason twin bill with Senators

The Montréal Canadiens split two simultaneous preseason games with the Ottawa Senators on Saturday, winning 4–2 at the Bell Centre and losing 4–3 at the Canadian Tire Centre.

Juraj Slafkovsky recorded a goal and two assists in the home win. Chris Kreider, Noah Dobson and Phillip Danault also scored for Montréal, while Samuel Montembeault was named the game’s third star.

In Ottawa, Montréal got goals from Brett Berard, Alex Belzile and Sasha Pastujov. The game was tied 3–3 before Oskar Eklund scored the winner for Ottawa at 10:57 of the third period.
