Drivers using the Pierre-Laporte Bridge near Québec City should expect extensive evening and overnight lane closures through Friday morning, September 18.
Québec’s transport ministry says two of the bridge’s three northbound lanes will close Saturday from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday, then Sunday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday. Two lanes in both directions are scheduled to close Monday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Southbound work follows Tuesday
Two southbound lanes are due to close Tuesday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Northbound closures return Wednesday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The northbound Autoroute 73 exit 132 for boulevard Champlain will also close during the Saturday and Wednesday work periods. Access to the bridge from boulevard Champlain is scheduled to close during Monday night’s two-way restrictions.
The ministry says the work will complete pavement repairs and address the bridge deck’s main joints. Asphalt work depends on suitable weather, so schedules may change. Drivers are being advised to check Québec 511 and allow extra time.
