Québec voters face September deadlines for mail and home voting

Québec’s provincial election is set for Monday, October 5, with several earlier voting options and application deadlines, Élections Québec said in a September 8 notice.
Advance voting is scheduled for September 27 and 28. Voting at a returning officer’s office will be offered September 25 and 26, then from September 29 through October 1; voters can use this option anywhere in Québec for a candidate in their home riding.
Eligible voters who cannot travel for health reasons must request voting at home or in their room by September 21. Registration to vote by mail from outside Québec closes September 16.
Polling places will also operate at participating vocational centres, CEGEPs, colleges and universities, with dates and hours varying by campus. Élections Québec says voting will be available in common areas of recognized CHSLDs and private seniors’ residences with at least 50 residents.
