Faye Iosotaluno, CEO of Tinder, announced she will step down from her leadership position in July, after serving in the chief executive role for less than one year. Iosotaluno shared the news publicly via a LinkedIn post, emphasizing that her next chapter will be “deeply personal” and driven by evolving ambitions within the consumer technology landscape.
Having spent almost eight years with Tinder, a division of Match Group, Iosotaluno expressed pride in assembling and working alongside a highly talented and diverse team. Highlighting her commitment to fostering diverse voices and perspectives, she indicated a desire to dedicate her future efforts toward empowering the next generation of female executives, founders, and investors.
In response to the announcement, Match Group CEO Spencer Rascoff also addressed the leadership change, revealing he would temporarily step in to guide the Tinder team moving forward. In his separate statement, Rascoff thanked Iosotaluno for collaborating closely over the past several months, ensuring a smooth transition process. He commended the momentum achieved under her leadership and affirmed his enthusiasm for continuing to build upon the team’s success.
The change in Tinder’s leadership comes as Match Group seeks strategies to enhance growth and profitability for the dating app. Earlier this month, Match Group confirmed it had reduced staffing by 13%, primarily targeting cost savings and improved agility in decision-making processes, with a significant portion of the cuts affecting Tinder.
