“Why Are Millions Flocking to iOS 18? The Unspoken Secrets Behind Apple’s Latest Surge”

Apple announced on Thursday that more than 82% of compatible iPhones worldwide have upgraded to its latest software, iOS 18. This marks a notable increase from January, when the adoption rate stood at 68%.

The tech giant introduced iOS 18 during its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June last year and officially began rolling out the update to users in September 2024. Compatible devices include the iPhone XR and XS models, along with all subsequent releases.

The figures released by Apple combine all updates under the broader iOS 18 category, without specifying precisely how many devices are running the most recent update iteration.

In addition to iOS for iPhones, Apple also reported that adoption of iPadOS 18 reached 71% among compatible iPad devices. Furthermore, among devices introduced over the past four years, 88% of iPhones and approximately 81% of iPads have upgraded to these latest operating systems, compared to 76% and lower percentages respectively, recorded earlier in January.

Interestingly, Apple did not disclose any user adoption metrics for its recently launched Apple Intelligence features.

Looking ahead, the company is widely expected to unveil its next major software update, rumored to be named “iOS 19,” at this year’s WWDC event, which kicks off next Monday.
