Payments and subscription infrastructure companies Paddle and RevenueCat have partnered to offer a new payment solution aimed at helping app developers capitalize on recent changes to Apple’s App Store payment policies. The integration, announced on Tuesday, enables app users to make purchases seamlessly from developer platforms, whether accessed through web or mobile devices.
Under this new partnership, Paddle manages payment processing for web transactions, handling associated compliance aspects, including tax complexities. RevenueCat, meanwhile, provides developers clear visibility into subscription data and analytics across both web and mobile platforms. This integrated approach allows users to subscribe through one platform and instantly gain subscription access that is synchronized across all their devices.
The move comes in direct response to a recent U.S. policy shift stemming from the widely publicized legal battle between Apple and Fortnite creator Epic Games, settled by District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers. Although Apple prevailed on many points in the landmark antitrust case, the court ordered Apple to permit app developers in the U.S. to link directly to external payment methods without paying Apple’s customary commission fees.
Several applications have already integrated Paddle’s and RevenueCat’s individual systems, including the fitness app Runna. With the new joint solution, such apps gain an easier, more efficient route for monetizing their services via the web.
Jimmy Fitzgerald, Paddle’s CEO, highlighted that this collaboration addresses both technical and business challenges developers face in incorporating web-based subscriptions. He describes the integration as a significant opportunity for subscription-based apps seeking new avenues of revenue growth beyond traditional app store models.
RevenueCat co-founder and CEO Jacob Eiting, whose company’s technology currently supports the subscription management of more than 70,000 applications, praised Paddle as an excellent partner for the initiative. Together, their service enables developers to smoothly offer web-based payment options alongside conventional app store payment methods.
