Unveiling the Secret of Oakley Meta HSTN: Meta’s Hidden Masterpiece or Game-Changer in Disguise?

After months of speculation, Meta has officially revealed its latest smart glasses collaboration with Oakley. This new line, called Oakley Meta HSTN, draws inspiration from Oakley’s stylish HSTN (‘how-stuhn’) frames and boasts significant technological improvements over previous models.

Designed for enhanced everyday use, the smart glasses more than double the battery longevity compared to the previous Meta Ray-Ban models, offering up to eight hours of typical use and an impressive 19 hours on standby. A quick charge feature allows users to achieve 50% battery capacity in just twenty minutes. Additionally, the included charging case extends usage considerably, providing up to 48 hours of power when on the go.

Each pair of glasses features an advanced front-facing camera capable of capturing high-quality 3K video, alongside integrated microphones and open-ear speakers. Users can seamlessly listen to music, capture photos, record videos, and engage in phone calls, all hands-free.

Meta further equips the Oakley smart glasses with the company’s proprietary AI assistant. Wearers can simply say commands such as “Hey Meta, how strong is the wind today?” or “Hey Meta, take a video,” making interactions effortless and intuitive.

Beyond functionality, the Oakley Meta HSTN glasses offer style versatility, available in six distinct frame and lens combinations—all of which support prescription lenses. Choices include warm grey frames paired with ruby lenses, black frames with polar black lenses, brown smoke frames coupled with polar deep water lenses, black frames accented by amethyst lenses, clear frames with grey lenses, and black frames with clear lenses.

A special limited-edition variant sporting gold-colored accents is priced at $499, with preorders starting on July 11th. The standard collection will follow later this summer, starting at $399.

Initially set to launch in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark, Meta has also announced plans to expand availability later this year to markets in Mexico, India, and the United Arab Emirates.
