Google’s NotebookLM, the company’s AI-driven note-taking and research assistant, is coming soon to mobile devices. According to recent app store listings, NotebookLM will debut its Android and iOS apps on May 20, and both applications are now available for pre-order or pre-registration.
Since its initial desktop launch in 2023, NotebookLM has attracted attention for its innovative tools designed to assist students, professionals, and researchers in managing and analyzing complex information. The app not only generates insightful summaries and answers user queries about documents, but it also features a unique AI-generated audio function called Audio Overviews, which simplifies intricate concepts into easy-to-follow podcasts.
The previews from the app listings indicate users will be able to create and access notebooks directly from their smartphones, upload new reference materials, and revisit previously stored documents seamlessly. Additionally, the apps will let users listen to their previously generated Audio Overviews from anywhere.
Moreover, the convenience extends beyond smartphones; the apps will arrive fully optimized for tablets, including iPads, allowing users to benefit from larger screen sizes and multitasking capabilities.
Google has strategically scheduled the apps’ official release date to coincide with the opening of its annual Google I/O developer conference. Observers widely anticipate that the company will elaborate further on NotebookLM’s functionality and mobile adaptations during this event.
