Reddit announced a new set of profile tools on Thursday designed specifically for business subscribers of Reddit Pro, its suite of specialized features aimed at helping brands engage with Reddit’s vibrant communities.
Businesses signing up for Reddit Pro will now receive automatically generated profile bios based on their provided website. After submitting their site’s URL during registration, companies can select from several suggested descriptions crafted by the platform.
Additionally, Reddit is introducing the ability for businesses to prominently showcase community posts and user comments directly on their profiles. Using the recently launched Reddit Pro Trends tab, businesses can cross-post discussions related to their brand or industry directly to their profile page, giving companies a more active presence within relevant conversations. The Trends tab, first rolled out earlier this year, provides powerful insights by tracking keywords and phrases to surface popular topics being discussed within the Reddit community.
Jim Squires, Reddit’s Executive Vice President for Business Marketing and Growth, highlighted this opportunity in a statement, emphasizing that over half of all online conversations about purchases occur on Reddit. He noted that these profile enhancements make it easier for businesses, large or small, to establish credibility and actively join discussions. Squires added that bringing brands and passionate users together enriches the community and supports mutual growth and success.
Reddit’s upgrades arrive following a particularly strong fiscal quarter for the company, which has successfully navigated recent economic volatility. Reddit reported revenues of $392.4 million, marking a significant 61% increase over the previous year and surpassing Wall Street forecasts. The platform also experienced robust user growth, with daily active unique users climbing to 108.1 million, an increase of 31% year-over-year.
