“Unlock Hidden Voices: ElevenLabs’ New Mobile App Transforms Text into Audio Alchemy!”

Voice AI firm ElevenLabs has announced the launch of a standalone mobile application, available for both iOS and Android, designed to transform written text into audio clips. This marks a significant departure from the company’s previous approach, which required users to rely on its web app to produce voice samples.

The new app provides a user-friendly interface, allowing individuals to simply type or paste in their desired text, choose from multiple AI-generated voices, and swiftly generate audio output. Users on the free tier receive approximately ten minutes of audio generation, with higher-tier models available to balance audio quality and cost. These offerings maintain a shared credit limit between the mobile app and the existing web version.

ElevenLabs highlighted the inclusion of its latest v3 alpha text-to-speech technology, providing users notable control over vocal expression through specialized tags. Jack McDermott, who leads mobile growth at the company, explained that demand from content creators and influencers prompted the decision to develop a dedicated mobile application. He noted that numerous creators were already using mobile web browsers to incorporate generated voice clips into their videos on platforms such as CapCut, Instagram, and Inshot.

“Over the past year, we’ve experienced an incredible surge of creative activity from our user base—including content creators, marketing professionals, educators, voice artists, and other professionals—all leveraging ElevenLabs to bring their projects to life,” McDermott wrote in an email. “Many were already accessing ElevenLabs via mobile browsers and expressed a need for a faster, more intuitive native mobile experience.”

With this release, ElevenLabs enters direct competition in the mobile domain with established voice generation and cloning applications such as Speechify and Captions.

This application is ElevenLabs’ second standalone consumer-facing product, following the debut of the ‘Reader’ app last year. Initially developed to help users conveniently consume written content—including blogs, PDFs, eBooks, and articles—via listening, the company also expanded the Reader app this year to enable publishers and authors to distribute audiobooks directly on its platform.

Looking ahead, ElevenLabs plans additional enhancements to the mobile experience, such as speech-to-text functionalities, conversational AI integrations, and launching experiences powered by its Model Control Panel (MCP), including the anticipated rollout of 11.ai features.
