Linktree has introduced a new suite of monetization tools aimed at helping content creators generate additional income directly through its platform. The company’s expanded offerings include the capability to create and sell online courses, digital products, and build customized storefronts linked to a variety of popular retailers. Additionally, creators can now monetize branded and affiliate links, opening new revenue streams from partnerships.
These updates signify a strategic push by Linktree to distinguish itself from competitors such as Beacons and Shorby, alongside more established creator monetization services like Patreon. By offering a broader set of revenue-generation options, Linktree provides a more comprehensive platform for creators seeking to diversify their earnings beyond traditional social media channels.
A key part of the announcement is Linktree’s partnership with Kajabi, a platform specializing in creator-driven online courses. This integration enables creators to easily share and monetize their expertise, allowing fitness professionals to sell workout routines, musicians to offer lessons, and experts from diverse fields to package their knowledge directly within their Linktree profiles. All transactions are smoothly facilitated through Stripe integration, allowing creators to set and control their own pricing.
Furthermore, Linktree users now have the option to directly sell digital products such as e-books, templates, guides, and similar items. This particular update aligns closely with recent moves by Patreon, which unveiled similar features allowing the sale of digital goods, illustrating the growing competition in creator-oriented e-commerce solutions.
Another significant addition is the availability of customizable shopping storefronts, currently rolled out for all U.S. users. With this feature, creators earn commissions from consumer purchases made through partnerships with established retailers including Target, Amazon, Lululemon, and Revolve. Additionally, direct affiliate links can be seamlessly integrated into profiles, providing even more avenues for monetization.
Linktree has also embarked upon a new initiative called “Sponsored Links,” enabling brands to directly compensate creators for including promotional content in their Linktree profiles. Clearly marked as “sponsored,” these branded engagements can drive additional income, such as payments when followers subscribe to streaming services or purchase featured products.
To reward and incentivize user engagement, the company has introduced “Rewards,” a milestone-based program that offers creators enhanced perks such as bonus commissions and expanded brand collaboration opportunities. According to Linktree, the diverse range of monetization options launched will empower its extensive user base of over 70 million to generate sustainable income directly within the platform.
Creators can access and manage these new monetization features within the dedicated “Earn” section on both the Linktree mobile app and website.
