The Billion-Dollar Revolution: Uncover the Hidden Forces Propelling Chapter’s Mysterious Medicare Mission

Chapter, a Medicare advisory startup co-founded by former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, has secured a $75 million funding round, lifting its valuation to $1.5 billion. The investment was led by Stripes, a prominent private equity and venture capital firm.

Focused on assisting seniors navigating complex Medicare choices, Chapter evaluates options across medical providers, hospitals, and prescription drug plans. The company differentiates itself from traditional Medicare brokers by emphasizing prioritization of client interests rather than aligning incentives with insurer profits.

Previously, Chapter attracted attention through its early investors, including venture capital fund Naraya, established by current Vice President J.D. Vance. Naraya originally led Chapter’s Series A round in 2020. At that time, Vance personally occupied a board seat, a position subsequently passed onto billionaire entrepreneur Peter Thiel when Vance exited the board to launch his Senate campaign in 2021.

More recently, Democrat Donna Shalala, the former Secretary of Health and Human Services under President Clinton and later U.S. Congresswoman, joined Chapter’s board to fill a vacancy left by Thiel’s departure. Shalala remarked that the company’s political connections did not influence her decision to become involved, emphasizing her view of Chapter as a non-political entity dedicated primarily to improving healthcare options for seniors.
