Mystery Unveiled: How Google’s Gemini Skyrocketed to 350 Million Users in Record Time

Google’s AI chatbot Gemini had reached 350 million monthly active users worldwide as of March, according to internal data disclosed in Google’s ongoing antitrust lawsuit.

The internal numbers highlight Gemini’s dramatic growth trajectory over recent months, marking a notable expansion of Google’s AI platform. In October 2024, Gemini reported just 9 million daily active users; by March 2025, that figure had surged to 35 million daily users.

Despite this rapid uptake, Gemini still trails significantly behind more established competitors. Google’s data presented in court estimated ChatGPT’s monthly user base at approximately 600 million for the same period. Similarly, Meta AI, as announced by CEO Mark Zuckerberg in September, was closing in on 500 million monthly users.

Although companies commonly define monthly active users somewhat differently, the statistics underline a clear increase in the mainstream adoption of Google’s AI offerings. Google has aggressively expanded Gemini’s presence through integration across several key products and partnerships, placing it prominently in front of millions of users via Samsung smartphone integrations, Chrome browser enhancements, and Google Workspace tools including Gmail.

Gemini’s rapid growth serves as evidence of rising public acceptance and engagement with AI technologies, as Google continues to position its platform for broader consumer adoption.
