Mystery Deepens as Gravitee Unlocks Secret to $60 Million Boost—What Are They Planning Next?

Gravitee, a platform specializing in API management and digital traffic infrastructure, has secured $60 million in a Series C funding round. The round was primarily led by Sixth Street Growth, with participation from Riverside Acceleration Capital and Albion VC. With this latest fundraising, the company’s total investment now exceeds $125 million.

The newly raised funds will be directed toward enhancing product capabilities and accelerating Gravitee’s strategic expansion into additional markets, according to CEO Rory Blundell. Gravitee seeks to address the increasing complexity encountered by enterprises as they integrate diverse digital systems—including AI, streaming data platforms, and hybrid technologies—which require efficient API management solutions to prevent gaps in security, control, and visibility.

Founded in 2015 by Rory Blundell and developers Azize Elamrani, David Brassely, Nicolas Géraud, and Titouan Compiegne, Gravitee began as an open-source API management project before broadening into commercial services that financially support ongoing software development. Today, Gravitee offers deployment flexibility with solutions available on-premises, as self-hosted systems, or via a fully managed SaaS offering. Features include intuitive API design tools, mocked-testing environments, and visual dashboards for monitoring and controlling API infrastructure.

Gravitee differentiates itself from competitors by handling both synchronous and asynchronous APIs—a capability not universally offered by other tools in the marketplace. The company counts hundreds of notable businesses among its customers, including Michelin, Roche, Blue Yonder, and Tide. According to Blundell, Gravitee achieved an annual recurring revenue of $22 million in the fiscal year ending 2024.

These funds will also support continued expansion of Gravitee’s team, currently employing approximately 130 people, with plans to grow to around 200 staff by the end of the year.
