Meta’s Mysterious AI Tools: Discover the Secret to Transforming Your Videos with a Single Click

Meta announced on Wednesday that its Meta AI platform now includes advanced video editing tools, enabling users to modify short videos using AI-driven preset prompts. These new capabilities, introduced across the company’s Meta AI app, the Meta.ai website, and its Edits application—seen as a direct competitor to TikTok’s Capcut app—are currently available in the United States.

With this feature update, Meta is positioning itself against competitors such as Google, which has steadily expanded its generative AI video tools, and startup apps like Captions, known for their AI-powered content creation offerings. Meta credited its Movie Gen AI models for inspiring the new video editing features, although the company did not explicitly confirm if these models directly power the tools.

At launch, users have access to 50 preset editing styles optimized to alter videos of up to 10 seconds in length. The company developed these presets based on input from creators, facilitating their integration into Meta’s video creation app, Edits. Examples of presets include converting a clip’s style to reflect a vintage comic book aesthetic, transforming lighting conditions to portray a rainy atmosphere, or swapping the subject’s clothing for futuristic attire like a space cadet costume. Videos edited using these presets can be directly shared to Facebook and Instagram from within the Edits and Meta AI applications.

Meta indicated that additional customization options will be released later this year. In a related blog post, the company underscored its vision of enabling broad creative experimentation: “We built this feature so that everyone can experiment creatively and create fun, engaging videos to share with friends, family, and followers. Whether you’re reimagining a cherished family memory or discovering fresh ways to entertain your audience, our video editing tools are here to help.”

Already offering image-generation capabilities across multiple platforms, Meta’s latest addition to video editing reinforces its strategic goal of keeping creators engaged within its ecosystem rather than relying on third-party video editing software.
