Is This the Game-Changer Boaters Have Been Waiting For? Arc’s New Electric Vessel Promises Surprising Twists

Electric boat startup Arc unveiled its newest model, the Arc Coast, marking its least expensive and most accessible offering to date. With a starting price of $168,000, the company has opened preorders and expects to begin shipping the boat by 2026.

The Coast is designed as a 24-foot “center console” craft typically favored for use in activities like fishing. It joins Arc’s expanding lineup, following the exclusive Arc One, priced at around $300,000, and the Arc Sport, which sells at approximately $268,000.

Despite being only four years removed from its initial launch, Arc has rapidly broadened its ambitions, recently announcing plans for an all-electric tugboat service at the Port of Los Angeles. This aligns with founder and CEO Mitch Lee’s bold vision to develop electrified maritime transportation across all categories.

Like the Arc Sport, the Coast features Arc’s proprietary 226kWh battery pack. Users can expect roughly four to five hours or more of runtime between charges, dependent on usage, with the vessel delivering up to 400 horsepower and a top speed around 50 miles per hour. The Coast is equipped to comfortably accommodate up to ten passengers.

Distinct from the Arc Sport mainly in its layout, the Coast’s helm and steering console are centrally located, allowing ample space for ease of movement onboard. The vessel maintains Arc’s signature premium interior finish and attention to detail, previously showcased in earlier models. The company emphasizes an intuitive and minimalist user interface on the integrated control screens within the center console, offering robust digital features and sleek aesthetics.

Arc continues to highlight the inherent benefits electric boats provide compared to traditional gas-powered vessels—namely, eliminating harmful emissions, cutting down on seasonal maintenance requirements such as winterization, and significantly reducing noise levels. Although priced competitively for the performance electric boat segment, the Arc Coast remains a premium investment. The company anticipates the boat’s unique combination of innovation, convenience, and environmental advantages will appeal to boat owners and enthusiasts when it launches next year.
