Apple’s tvOS 26 Unveiling: Discover the Secrets Behind “Liquid Glass” and What it Means for Your Viewing Experience

Apple unveiled tvOS 26 at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2025), introducing a fresh visual style termed “Liquid Glass,” aimed at delivering an elegant and minimalistic viewing experience on the Apple TV interface.

One of the key updates users will enjoy in tvOS 26 includes streamlined profile management. The device will now prompt users to select their profiles directly upon waking from sleep, significantly simplifying personalized access for households. This ensures family members can quickly enter their individual viewing environments to continue where they left off in their favorite programs and movies.

The latest update also enhances the central Apple TV app interface by integrating new, visually engaging poster art. This update allows viewers to see an increased variety of content at a glance. Furthermore, Apple’s Control Center, the hub where users manage functions such as sleep timers or audio settings, also adopts the Liquid Glass aesthetic. This refined look places greater emphasis on the content itself, keeping navigation tools unobtrusive and sophisticated.

Additionally, developers now have access to an updated application programming interface (API) that directly links application logins with users’ Apple accounts. This improvement is designed to streamline and simplify the initial device setup process, helping users get connected and watching more quickly.
